Oh hey there.
I’m Haley. A lifelong midwesterner based out of Kansas City (soon to be San Diego!) who is sarcastic at best, and loves a good dad joke, also at best. I am an introvert at heart who cringes at the thought of small talk and writing whole ‘about me’ pages. Some of my most favorite things are flowers of all shapes and sizes, sipping coffee at my beloved local coffee shops, rewatching Friends on Netflix (bless), music, driving with my windows down no matter what season, being barefoot, and watching the sun rise and set. I feed off of adventure and beautiful, natural, serene locations. Basically, if it involves mountains (or oceans, or deserts), breakfast food, coffee, or campfires–I’m in 100%.
Why do I do what I do?
I am the artist in a family filled with scientists and mathematicians. This gave my siblings an edge on project presentations, and me an additional analytical approach to my artwork. Prior to picking up a camera I studied fashion design, but found no real connection to the the industry that surrounded me. I later parted ways to pursue travel photography to fuel my wander’s heart, but that too left me feeling like there was more to be found.
What I needed was connection. A spark of magic.
That is where I unearthed what has truly always made my heart beat hardest: love. There’s a reason I’m a hopeless romantic to a fault; I am the dope who will cry in the side aisle during your ceremony! Being an introvert I am a natural observer and love nothing more than experiencing a couple’s organic interactions. I desire to capture love as it comes, unrehearsed. My dream is to document those moments that speak true to your awkward, goofy, easy-going, quirky, tender, teasing, and genuine love that you uniquely possess. No two couple’s story is the same and that’s what makes capturing real love so gosh dang gratifying.
Connecting with couples who hold the same deep appreciation for intimacy and wide open spaces is what I’m after. There’s something about delving into nature, God’s country, that brings out such a true and unguarded state in people. I’m all for the couples who aren’t afraid to have a little wind in their hair and mud on their shoes. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of the job. I’m here to embrace the non-traditionalists, the adventurers, romantics, and wild-at-heart couples out there. I would abso-freaking LOVE to talk more about your love and create something beautiful together.
